Perry Francis Unruh, a former long – time Enid resident, died Thursday in an Eureka Springs, Arkansas, hospital after several months illness. The body will be returned to Enid on Sunday morning and the funeral services will be held in the Central Christian Church Sunday at 3 PM with Rev. Lloyd H. Lambert officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with the Brown Funeral Home in charge.

Unruh was born in Meno on March 30, 1905. He was married March 3, 1925, to Arline Rogers at Jefferson. They moved to Enid and he was associated with the grain business and the Enid Milling Company from 1926 to 1930 when he was made manager of the County Elevators for General Mills at Oklahoma City. In 1934, he returned to Enid to work in the grain department of the Pillsbury Mills. He was employed in the grain procurement department of Pillsbury Mills at the time of his retirement on January 1, 1969.

They made their home in Enid until February, 1973, when they moved to their lakeside home at Shell Knob, Missouri.

Unruh served as director and held various offices of Southwest Grain Council, Oklahoma Grain and Feed Association and the Enid Board of Trade. He was a member of the Central Christian Church of Enid and an associate member of the Central Community United Methodist Church of Shell Knob, Missouri. Also a member of the Pioneer class and a Deacon of the Central Christian Church, Enid. He was active and held several offices in the Boy Scouts of America.

Survivors include his wife Arline, of the home, two sons, Gerald A., Littleton, Colorado, and Stanley R., Brighton, Colorado, two grandsons, his step – mother, Mrs. John T. Unruh, Carrier, and one step – sister, Mrs. George Littrell, Mendon, Missouri.

The family suggest memorials may be made to the Central Christian Church with Brown Funeral Home acting as custodian.
