Rose Marie Swyden, 70, of Enid, died Friday, Sept. 5, 2008, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center. Rose was born May 29, 1938, in Harper, Kan., to Albert J. and Mary E. Belisle Nirschl

Rose attended and graduated from Zenda High School in Zenda, Kan., later attending and graduating from Phillips University. She married Bobby Swyden March 21, 1968, in Enid, Okla., and he passed away Aug. 6, 1999.

Rose was a member of First Christian Church in Tecumseh, Okla., a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxilary 2270. She also was an Avon representative.

Rose is survived by her son Joe and his wife Laura Schonlau of Enid; brother, A. Lee and his wife Mary Nirschl of Hominy, Okla.; good friends, Barbara Hager, Kathryn Puffinbarger, Ramonda Lauflin, Irene Woods and Martha Schutkesting; her granddaughter, Claryssa Schonlau; stepgrandchildren, Dillon and Shelby Smith and Jessica Kirkendall; and stepgreat-grandchildren, Jayce Schonlau and Grace Reddick.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Memorials may be made to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, heart or cancer division, or First Christian Church of Hominy, P.O. Box 535, Hominy, OK 74035.
