Graveside services for Katarzyna "Katherine" Szczepaniak, 97 of Enid, will be Friday, November 17, 2017 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery with Deacon Tony Crispo officiating. Recitation of the Rosary will be Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. in Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.

Katherine was born on February 22, 1920 in Ukraine and died on November 10, 2017 in Enid.

She grew up in Ukraine and was taken to Germany as slave labor during World War II. On May 28, 1946, she married Edward Szczepaniak in Trier Germany. They immigrated to the United States on September 5, 1951. Katherine was a certified nurse’s aide at Bass Hospital for 25 years. She was a longtime member of St. Francies Xavier Catholic Church. Katherine volunteered at Our Daily Bread for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; two grandchildren, Brad and Angela Szczepaniak; one brother and two sisters.

She is survived by her children, Krystyna Hatfield of Sapulpa, Marion “Z” (Marilyn) Szczepaniak of Seattle, WA, Richard (Bonnie) Szczepaniak of Enid, John Szczepaniak of Seattle, WA, and Roselyn (Tim) Bramwell of Enid; 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Our Daily Bread.
