The funeral for Frank M. Stoddard, 85, of Enid, will be 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 15, 2008, at Anderson - Burris Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Alvin Dalton will officiate. Burial will be in Mem-orial Park Cemetery.

He was born June 25, 1923, in Franklin, Ore., to William and Ida Haskins Stoddard and died Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008, in Enid.

He grew up in Redding, Calif., and graduated from Anderson High School. He served in the Army during World War II. After his discharge, he moved to Cocoran, Calif., where he worked as a caterpillar driver. He married Shirley A. Sprangler Sept. 7, 1951, at Casgrandy, Ariz. They later moved to Bradley, then Lindsey, where he worked for JR Trucking as a driver. They moved to Blair and he worked as a mechanic. In Dec. 1963, they moved to Enid. He worked for Enid Iron & Metal. He was a member of House of Prayer.

Surviving are his wife, Shirley of the home ; one son, Frank Stoddard, Jr. of Enid; four daughters, Barbara Lovely of Helena, Betty Winters of Skellytown, Texas, Pat McDaniel of Edmond, and Ida Larson of Greenbay, Wis.; one sister, Jeanie Stoddard of Las Vegas; 32 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, two sons, four brothers and two sisters.
