ENID, OK — Funeral for Max A. Smith, 74-year-old Enid resident, is 2 p.m. Monday, June 23, 2014, in Oakwood Christian Church. The Rev. Alan Seibel will officiate.

Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home. Visitation with family will be 5-7 p.m. today in Henninger-Hinson Chapel.

Max was born July 16, 1939, in Enid to Leonard and Hazel (Long) Smith and died Thursday, June 19, 2014, in Integris Bass Baptist Health Center.

He attended Marshall High School and graduated with the class of 1958.

On October 14, 1962, he married Bobbie Jean Walker at Winthrop, Mass.

He served in the United States Army from 1962 until 1964. He worked for F.W. Zaloudek, Case Imp, in Kremlin for 23 years. He was a longtime member of Davis Park Christian Church. He was a volunteer firefighter for the Kremlin department for 23 years.

He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed making homemade Butterfinger ice cream and loved cooking hamburgers for the 4R Kids Foundation for its September walk.

He is survived by his daughter, Vicki and husband Richard Schultz of Enid; stepdaughter, Donna and husband Jerry Robinson of Van Buren, Arkansas; son, Allen Smith and wife Misty of Ada, OK; stepson, Ronnie Mize and wife Wilma of Wilburton, OK; brothers, Daniel L. Smith of Enid and Rex Smith and wife Corrina of Edmond, OK; sisters, Geraldine and husband Robert Shepard of Norman, OK, and Mary Lou Pool of Enid; nine grandkids and eight great-grandkids.

Memorials may be made to 4R Kids Foundation through Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home. Condolences may be made to the family at www.enidwecare.com.
