Burial at Memorial Park Cemetery will immediately follow the service. Family will recieve friends on June 6 2012 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm at the Brown-Cummings Funeral home.

Peggy was born June 10, 1925 in Braggs, Oklahoma and died June 3, 2012 in Enid, Ok. Her parents were Charles and Lillie Gober of Sedan, Kansas. She was the 5th child of 6 children: 5 girls and 1 boy.

Peggy and her family moved from Braggs, Oklahoma to Sedan, Kansas when she was 6 years old. She immediately entered 1 st grade but was soon placed in the 2nd grade and graduated at the age of 16 from Sedan High School in 1942. She moved to Enid that same year and joined 2 of her older sisters already living here. Peggy was soon hired by Doyle W. Cotton of Champlin Refining Company as his personal secretary: ajob she loved and appreciated throughout her life. She remained employed at Champlin for several years but eventually left along with Mr. Cotton and Gale Nussbaum who had formed their own company where she continued as Mr. Cotton's personal secretary. She enjoyed her work a great deal, especially the operation of Orchard Hill Farm, north of Enid, where she helped oversee the herd of registered Angus cattle owned by Mr. Cotton.

Peggy and Kenneth Slack met in October 1948 and were married on June 3, 1949, at Central Christian Church, Enid. Peggy enjoyed life, especially with friends and participating in outdoor activities, tennis, golf, & swimming. Several years later, she was instrumental in the development of the Junior Golf Program at Meadowlake Golf Course where she was a member of the Meadowlake Women's Golf Association.

She was an excellent cook and liked to try new and different recipes. Her gift for drawing and painting was truly a blessing. Her paintings are very good and she took great pleasure in being able to put her ideas on canvas. However, Peggy's greatest joy was that of being a Mother and a Grandmother.

She is survived by Kenneth of the home, daughter Denise and husband Steve Blume of Enid, son Jim and wife Tammy Slack of Tulsa, grandchildren Parker, Preston, and Madeline Slack, all of Tulsa.

She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, her parents, sisters and brother.

Memorials in her memory may be made to The Alzheimer's Association or the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation With Brown-Cummings serving as custodian of the funds.
