Services today for Charles Skillings

A former Enid resident, Charles Skillings, 91, died Monday at Fredonia, Kansas, following a period of ill health.

A native of Champaign, Illinois, he came to Enid in the early days of statehood, later moving to Fall River, Kansas, in 1947 and then to Fredonia. He was a member of the Christian Church.

Survivors are his widow Bertha of the home in Fredonia; a son, Henry J. Skillings, Shawnee; one grandson and three great – grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Latira Tracy, Needesha, Kansas, Mrs. George Greer, Fall River, Kansas, and a brother, Arthur Skillings, Fall River.

Funeral services were Wednesday afternoon in Fredonia. The body was returned to Enid Wednesday evening and will lie in state in the Henninger – Allen Funeral Home until 3 PM today when committal services will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery.
