Funeral service for Ruby Gordon Skidmore, 93, of Enid, will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Donaldson officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 at the funeral home. Ruby was born on June 3, 1919 to Lloyd and Grace (Owens) Shelton in Elizabeth, Arkansas, and passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2013 in Enid.

Ruby grew up in Elizabeth, Arkansas, and at the age of 18 she moved to Covington and lived at Sinclair Oilfield. On May 31, 1940 she married Delmer Fredis Skidmore in Covington. Ruby worked for several years for the Garfield County Election Board. She was a homemaker, and a baker at Woodring airport for thirteen years, where she perfected her apple dumplings. People would fly into the airport just for her apple dumplings. Ruby later was a baker at Advance Foods for ten years. In 1980 they moved to Enid. Ruby loved watching her children and grandchildren playing sports. She loved her Lord and Savior.

Ruby is survived by her four children, Karen Krausse and husband Larry, Larry Skidmore and wife Mary Ellen, all of Enid, Connie Skidmore of Broken Arrow, and Jerry Skidmore and partner Bruce Boan of Atlanta, Georgia; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 1 great great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband Delmer, brother Joe Shelton, and a great great- grandson. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Our Daily Bread.
