A Celebration of Life for Charles "Bud" Simpson, 88, of Enid, will be 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19, 2016, at the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Steve Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery.

Charles was born Feb. 10, 1928, and passed away Sept. 14, 2016. He attended school in Kremlin and then Enid High School. Bud was united in marriage to Dorothy E. Walters Aug. 17, 1951, in Enid, Okla., and she preceded him in death Nov. 17, 2006. Bud was employed as a machinist by the Champlin Petroleum Company for 38 years. He was a member of the AQHA, the Garfield County Round-up club and USTR. He enjoyed bull-riding and participating in rodeos. After retirement, he worked as a cowboy and horse trainer.

Survivors include a daughter, Debra Jo Toews (Francis), a son, Brad Simpson (Richelle), five grandchildren, Lacy Hoggard, Samantha Toews, Kelly Reyes, Jessy Dershem and CJ Simpson, seven great-grandchildren, a sister, Ramah Harper of Georgia, and a brother, Richard Simpson of Hillsdale, Okla.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, a son, Kyle, a brother, Duane Simpson, and a sister, Dorothy Simpson Myers.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lahoma First Baptist Church Youth Glow Program or the Galactosemia Foundation with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home custodian of the funds.
