ENID — Funeral for Stanley Selix, 84, will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011, at Anderson - Burris Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Scott Whittenburg officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be 5:30-7 p.m. today at Anderson - Burris Funeral Home .

Stanley was born to Frank and Teresa (O'Donnell) Selix on Jan. 4, 1927, in Breckinridge and died Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2011, in Enid.

He grew up on the family farm, and then served in the U.S. Navy SeeBees in Guam. After his honorable discharge from the Navy, he graduated from Kremlin High School.

On April 5, 1952, he married Laverna Cunningham at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Enid, where they made their home . Stanley was a farmer, enjoyed fishing, and worked various jobs. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Stanley is survived by wife, Laverna; sons, Larry Selix, Mark Selix and wife Lisa, all of Enid, and Glen Selix of Garber; daughter, Brenda Schultz and husband Brent of Enid; five grandchildren, Cole and Amy Selix, Matt and Rae Selix, Maggie Selix, Marissa and Austin Schultz; three great-grandchildren, Xander, Trace and Edie Selix; and sister, Celia Dupus of Enid.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Capital Improvement Fund.
