Vaneata was born east of Nash on the family farm on March 16, 1926, to Don B. and Della I. (Hurley) Howard, and passed away Friday, Aug. 5, 2016, in Enid.

She met Harold Schultz at the skating rink and they were married on April 1, 1948. They made their home on a farm in Breckinridge, before making their permanent home in Enid.

After her retirement, she was active in NARFE, where she was a past president. She was a long time member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Vaneata enjoyed Western movies, having a lovely garden and watching birds and butterflies out of her windows.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold E. Schultz; son, Craig E. Schultz; granddaughter, Shannon D'Nae Keck; two sisters, Avonne Jo Jager and Myrna D. Waddill.

Vaneata is survived by her daughter, Debra Perrin and husband, Larry, of Cincinnati, Ohio; a sister, Myra B. Richardson, of Edmond; granddaughter, Ava Dawn Zambalis and husband, Brandon, of Broken Arrow; two great-grandchildren, Brayden Stewart, of Elsmere, Ky.; and Xoi Zambalis, of Broken Arrow.
