The funeral for Harry Henry Schultz, 87, of Kremlin, will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009, at Hillsdale Bible Church. The Revs. Doak Sides and Mike Kelly will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery . Family visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Ar-rangements are by Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

He was born March 4, 1922, in Garfield County to Henry and Margaret Hermanski Schultz and died Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009, at his home.

He grew up on a farm northwest of Carrier. He attended Enid schools through the ninth grade, and graduated from Hillsdale High School in 1940.

Following graduation, he worked as a mechanic in California, then enlisted in the Army Air Force during World War II. He received training at glider school in Dalhart, Texas.

He served as a mechanic during World War II, working on A-28 and Douglass Attack Bombers. He was stationed in the Panama Canal Zone, Australia, New Guinea, the Philippine Islands, Okinawa, Seoul, Korea, and Japan with the 305th Air Dome Squadron. He was awarded the Bronze Star and the Pacific Theatre Medal. He was discharged with the rank of staff sergeant.

He married Ella Mae Olbert June 30, 1946. They lived in Colorado, Illinois and Kansas, where he was supervisor of the building of grain elevators in Julesberg, Colo., Bullpit, Ill., and Manor, Kan., as well as other cities in Kansas.

They returned to the family farm near Hillsdale , where he was an umpire for the Hillsdale High School baseball teams. He was a past member of Enid Shrine organization, Veteran of Foreign Wars and Masonic Lodge 501, where he earned the Masonic 32nd Degree. He attended Hillsdale Bible Church.

Surviving are four children, Jean Hollingsworth of Arkansas City, Kan., Michael Schultz of Kremlin, Peggy Roads of Enid, and Rene Kilian of Derby, Kan.; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ella Mae, and one sister.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Hillsdale Bible Church or Hillsdale Christian School.
