Burlin "Hoy" SWAIM

Memorial Park Cemetery



April 27, 1940 - November 9, 2021

A Celebration of Life service for Burlin "Hoy" Swaim, age 81, of Enid, will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 13, 2021, at the Ladusau-Evans Chapel with Rev. Don Tines officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Hoy was born April 27, 1940, in Covington, Ok, to Burl and Emma Hoy Swaim and passed away November 9, 2021, at the Garland Road Nursing Center. He attended and graduated from Covington High School as the Salutatorian of the Class of 1958. He attended Devry Tech. College and returned back to Enid. Hoy worked as a roughneck in the oil field. He married Dorothy Hudson on January 22, 1961, in Enid. He worked as a police officer in Ponca City and later for Phillips Petroleum. He moved to Oregon in 1972 and went to work as an electrician for Spalding Lumber Mill. On July 4, 1982, he moved back to Enid and started working as a lineman electrician for Vance Air Force Base, retiring in 2001. He married Marcella Robbin Siegemann on July 14, 1997, in Las Vegas.

He is survived by his wife Marcella Robbin of the home, two daughters; Cynthia DeMill and husband Merlin of Nampa, Idaho, and Shelly Burroughs of Edmond, OK, six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, sister Susan Grantz of Covington, OK, several nieces and nephews, step daughter Crista Whipple, step son Jeff Sherrill and one step grandson.

Hoy was preceded in death by his parents, sister Rose Marie, infant son, and granddaughter Erin Smiley.
