ENID — Funeral service for Howard Ross, 93, formerly of Enid, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 26, 2011, at Anderson - Burris Funeral Home Chapel, followed by interment in Memorial Park Cemetery. Vewing will be 6-8 p.m. Friday.

Howard was born to John and Esther Ross on Jan. 6, 1918, in Fairview, and died Tuesday, March 22, 2011, in Rogers, Ark.

He grew up in Fairview and later served in the U.S. Army during WWII, from 1940 to 1945. In 1947, he married Edith Fleshman and they made their home in Enid. Howard worked for Union Equity in Enid, retiring after 30 years. After the passing of Edith, he remarried to Edna Watts on Nov. 14, 1980.

He was a member of many local organizations and enjoyed camping, fishing and one of his greatest joys was laughter and time shared with his family.

Howard was a loving, kind and devoted husband, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be missed and fondly remembered by many.

Howard is survived by his daughters, Alta "Vicky" Parker of Rogers, Ark., and Carolyn "Shane" Enlow and husband Ralph of Langley; his grandchildren, Frank Smith of Jay, Ron Brown and wife Janet of Rogers, Larry Brown and wife Cheryl of Rogers, Randy Williams of Jay, Timothy Parker of Rogers, Rashell Smith of Langley, Mona Pat Ivy and husband Daniel of Wichita, Kan., and Ray Enlow of Tulsa; 16 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Thelma Ross of Rogers. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Edith; his second wife, Edna; sister, Ethel; two brothers, Laurence and Willis; and son-in law, Larry "Porky" Parker.
