Graveside service for Genevieve Elizabeth Richardson, 96-year-old Enid resident, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home. The Rev. Vernon Lee will officiate.

Genevieve was born Jan. 27, 1919, in Enid, Okla., to Walter and Catherine (Kinsley) Richardson and died Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015, at Highland Park Manor.

She attended local schools and graduated from Enid High School with the class 1937.

She worked as a secretary for numerous businesses in Enid, including Charles E. Knox, George Failing and later Vance Air Force Base. Genevieve received the Outstanding Performance Award numnerous times while working at Vance. She retired from the base in December 1979.

She loved to enter contests of all kinds and won many lovely prizes.

She was baptized on Easter Sunday 1926, at First United Methodist Church and remained a member there for 89 years. She was an active member of the YWCA, and she was a member and first president of the Enid Chapter of the National Secretaries Association.

She was an avid golfer and played in numerous tournaments over the years.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister.
