Dorothy Reimer-Schwedland

Dorothy was born July 23, 1912, in Wakita, Okla., to Ross and Lily (Madsen) Lyle, and passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2015 in Enid.

Dorothy graduated from Enid High School. In November of 1930 she married Henry Reimer and they made their home in Enid, where Dorothy was a homemaker. Later in June of 1992 she married Melvin Schwedland in Enid. Dorothy was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, and belonged to various card clubs.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter-in-law, Mary Reimer of Arvada, Colo.; 5 grandchildren, Jeff Beeson (Monica), Toni Beeson, Christi Wright (Jimmy), Dorothy Reimer, Terri Vangilder (LaRon); 6 great-grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by both husbands, Henry Reimer and Melvin Schwedland; daughter, Jessie Moravits; son, Henry Reimer; one sister; and two brothers.

Funeral service for Dorothy Reimer-Schwedland, 102, of Enid, will be 10 a.m., today, March 7, 2015, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Scott Whittenburg and the Rev. Kenneth Wade officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home & Crematory.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Guestbook is available at www.andersonburris.com.
