Funeral services for Ramona Joy Phares, 81, Enid, will be Monday, April 2, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Lester Lowry officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the kind guidance of Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service. Visitation with the family present will be this evening (4-1-2012) from 5-7 p.m. at Stittsworth’s.

Ramona was born on August 24, 1930 in Beaver County, Oklahoma, the daughter of Mitchell and Eva Hood Modrick, and passed away peacefully on Friday, March 30, 2012 in Enid. She was raised and educated in Perryton, Texas, graduating from Perryton High School with the class of 1947. On March 26, 1950, she married George Maple Phares, Jr. in Enid. He passed away in 1997.

Ramona worked as a waitress, later serving as a church organist for the Nazarene Church, Baptist Church, Pentecostal Holiness Church, and Apostolic Church. Survivors include, daughter, Linda Phares of the residence; son, Michael George Phares of Enid; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband,

Ramona was preceded in death by parents, and son, John Patrick.

Memorials may be made in Ramona’s memory to the Apostolic Faith Bible College with the Stittsworth Family serving as custodian of the fund.
