Celebration of Life service for Bernice Pauline Marie Pereboom, 98, of Enid, will be 3:30 p.m. Monday, April 20, 2015, at Norman “Shorty” Unruh Memorial Chapel at Golden Oaks Village. Pastor Tom House will officiate. A private family graveside service will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Bernice passed away Thursday, April 16, 2015 in Enid.

Bernice was born Jan. 29, 1917, on a farm five miles west of Enid to Alma Benkendorf and Theodore Carl Rutz.

She graduated from Lahoma High School in 1935. She was baptized at Trinity “Glenella” Lutheran Church and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. She is a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.

In 1937, she married Erwin E. Pereboom. He passed away January 9, 2007.

She is survived by her children, daughter Karen Etherington, of Frisco, Texas, son Don E. Pereboom and wife Joan, of Enid, Okla., son Bill E. Pereboom and wife Vivian, of Denver, Colorado; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Erwin E. Pereboom, and a daughter, Patricia Paul.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, with Ladusau-Evans serving as custodian of funds.
