The funeral service for Allen Gene Panhorst, age 77 of Enid will be held Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 2:00 pm at St Paul’s Lutheran Church. Rev Kenneth Wade will officiate. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Allen was born October 1, 1933 in Enid, OK to Arthur and Anna Helberg Panhorst and died March 14, 2011 in St Mary’s Regional Medical Center. He grew up and graduated from Enid High School. He enlisted in the U S Army after graduation for two years. He attended college at Phillips University; while attending he played baseball. He later taught at Pioneer High School and coached basketball for many years. After he was done coaching, he owned several Short Stop Convenient Stores until retirement.

He enjoyed golfing, and watching all sports.

Survivors include three daughters, Tonya Cagle and husband, Frank of Enid, OK, Jamie Fournier and husband Jim of Enid, OK and Tommi Ely and husband Weldon of Kingfisher, OK; 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; sister, Loris Wiersig of Oklahoma City, OK and special cousin, Allen Ray Helberg of Paris, TX

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Memorials may be made to St Paul’s Lutheran Church. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.ladusauevans.com. ;
