March 30, 1952 - November 12, 2013

Memorial service for Linda Kay (Wanzer) Ogletree, 61year-old Enid resident, will be 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, at First Baptist Church. The Rev. Keith Miller will officiate. A private family burial will follow at a later date. Visitation with the family is 5-7 p.m. today, Nov. 14, 2013, at Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home. Linda was born March 30, 1952, in Enid, Okla., to Ollie and Ethel (Schonholtz) and died Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.

She attended local schools.

She worked for a time at Stride Right Shoes, was a manager at Taco Bell for nearly 10 years, and was a dietary aid at Integris Bass and then for Monroe and Glenwood Schools.

On June 1, 1996, she married David “Tree” Ogletree in Elk City. The couple made their home in Enid, where she was a member of Enid First Baptist Church.

She enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter, Cassie, her family, and her dog, Chico.

She is survived by her husband, David of the home; daughter, Michelle Bobbitt and husband Jack of Yukon, Okla.; granddaughter, Cassie Bobbitt, also of Yukon; three brothers, Mike Wanzer and wife Debbie of Oklahoma City, and Don Wanzer and wife Debby and Chris Wanzer and wife Debbie, all of Enid; sister, Patty Clift and husband Steve of Watonga, Okla.; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Enid SPCA.

The memorial service for Walter David "Tree" Ogletree will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, 2020, in the Henninger~Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Gail Edmison will officiate. Masks are encouraged for those in attendance. A private family burial in Memorial Park Cemetery will take place at a later date.

David was born April 6, 1952, to Walter M. and Ima Jeane (Marshall) Ogletree in Elk City, Okla., and passed away Aug. 29, 2020, in Enid.

David grew up and attended school in Elk City before moving to Altus his senior year of high school, graduating with the class of 1970. After high school, David continued his education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, where he completed his bachelor's degree in 1974. While at SWOSU, David was president of the Student Education Association from 1973-1974, a position of which he was most proud. After college, he moved to Enid and began his teaching career, spanning over 35 years. He coached and taught math for 29 years at Longfellow Middle School before making the move to teach math at Enid High School for another five years. David also umpired the Enid baseball program for a number of years.

In 2008, he earned his retirement.

On June 1, 1996, he married Linda Kay Wanzer in Elk City. She preceded him in death in 2013.

David was an avid OU fan, proud alumni and supporter of SWOSU, enjoyed casinos and watching John Wayne movies as well as going out to eat with family and friends. His proudest accomplishment however, was watching his granddaughter, Cassie, graduate from his alma mater last year.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter M. and Ima Jeane (Marshall) Ogletree; wife, Linda; big brother, Dawson and younger brother, Dwight.

David is survived by daughter, Michelle Bobbitt and husband, Jack of Yukon; granddaughter, Cassie Bobbitt of Oklahoma City; brother, Doug Ogletree and wife, Joelle of Glen Rose, Texas; sister-in-law Ann Ogletree; brothers-in-law Mike Wanzer and wife, Debbie of Oklahoma City; Don Wanzer and wife, Debby of Enid; Chris Wanzer and wife, Debbie of Enid; sister-in-law Patty Clift and husband, Steve of Watonga; nieces, Rachael, Laura and Catherine; nephews, Darell, Donald and Jim as well as numerous extended family.

Memorials may be given through the funeral home to Enid SPCA.
