The funeral for the Rev. Archie R. Murdy, 80, of Enid, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the House of Prayer. The Rev. Afton Oglesby will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Hen-ninger-Allen Funeral Home.

He was born Aug. 17, 1927, in Oakwood to Archie and Beatrice Ford Murdy and died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2007, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.

He attended Oakwood schools and graduated in 1944. He entered the Army and was stationed in Germany. He returned to Enid and married Veda See July 18, 1947. After graduating from Bible College in Waxahatchie, Texas, they made their home in Enid. He led the same congregation in different sites for over 55 years. He volunteered with Department of Human Services.

Surviving are his daughter, Carolyn Dalton of Enid; one son, Archie Dalton of Blanchard; Steve Murdy of Columbus, Ind.; two sisters, Charlene Fleig of Enid and Laverne Autry of Canton; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Veda, one brother, one halfbrother and one halfsister.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to House of Prayer Roof Fund.
