Maude Beal Mourning, 81, 620 1/2 W. Wabash, died early Monday in a local hospital following a period of ill health.

Her funeral service will be at 10:30 AM Wednesday in the Ladusau – Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. H. Ray Bridgman officiating.

Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the Ladusau – Evans Funeral Home.

A Memorial has been established at the Abundant Life Temple in Mrs. Mourning's memory. The funeral home and church will serve as custodians of the fund.

Mrs. Mourning was born October 30, 1889, in western Kansas and received her education at Argonia high school and the University of Ottawa, Kansas.

She and Delbert Mourning were married in 1911 and lived in Wichita, Kansas, where he was engaged in the building business. They moved to Garber and 1925 and came to Enid in 1942.

She was Garfield County music teacher and served as state Sunday School Secretary for the Southern Baptist Convention of Kansas. She worked at Bass Baptist Hospital until her retirement.

Mrs. Mourning was a charter member of the Abundant Life Temple.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Virginia Baker of the home; Florence Mourning of the home; Mrs. Irene Hamm of Denver, Colorado, three sons, L. L. Mourning of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Del Mourning of Denver, E. M. Mourning of Fairview; 16 grandchildren and 23 great – grandchildren.
