A Celebration of Life for Billie Mae Mootz, age 79, of Enid, is 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 5, 2018, in the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Steve Williams officiating. Interment follows in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Friday, May 4, 2018, at the funeral home. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Billie was born in Enid, Oklahoma, on May 14, 1938, the daughter of James E. and Rozella (Holt) Dutton, and passed away on Monday, April 20, 2018, at Integris Bass Baptist Hospital in Enid. Billie graduated from Enid High School in 1956. After graduation, she began her 50+ year career at Vance Air Force Base, where she met the love of her life, Richard L. Mootz, whom she later married on March 16, 1957. Billie retired in 2009, as a fuels accountant at the age of 71. Billie was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she also served as treasurer of her Fidelis Sunday School Class.

She is survived by her five children, Ronnie and Deb Mootz; Gary Mootz; Allen Mootz; Carl and Sheryl Mootz; and Pam and Sam Mootz. She is also survived by her sister, Janet L. Chavez. She is also survived by her 12 grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

Billie's grandchildren were the light of her life. Billie enjoyed attending every event or activity that any of her grandchildren were in. Billie also enjoyed teaching them how to play cards but most of all spending quality time with each of them.

Billie is preceded in death by her parents, James E. and Rozella Dutton; husband, Richard L. Mootz; and one brother, Jerry E. Dutton.

Memorials in Billie's name may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.

August 15, 1934 - September 7, 1984

Richard Mootz, 50, 1305 N. 13th, died at his home Friday morning, September 7, 1984, following a brief period of ill health.

Services will be at 2 PM Monday in the Ladusau – Evans Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Milton Miles officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mootz was born August 15, 1934 in Indianapolis, Indiana, and attended school there. He enlisted in the Air Force in Indiana and was stationed in New York and Florida for basic training, then went to Vance Air Force Base in Enid as an aircraft mechanic and worked in the supply department.

He and the former Billie Dutton were married March 16, 1957 in Enid.

Mootz remained in Enid after his discharge from the Air Force and worked for a local garage, later operating one of his own.

He is survived by his wife, Billie, of the home; four sons, Ronnie, Gary, Allen and Carl, all of Enid; one daughter, Pam, of the home; four sisters, Mrs. James (Pauline) Flanders of Port Orchard, Washington; Mrs. Arthur (Jean) DeChamp of Seattle, Washington; Dorothy Griffin of Spencer, Indiana; and Mrs. Robert (Shirley) Abshere of Trenton, Florida; by one brother Joe Mootz of Indianapolis, Indiana, and seven grandchildren.

Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
