The funeral for Nina Cutter Messenger, 89, of Hillsdale will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hillsdale Bible Church. The Revs. James Porterfield and Gaylord Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Henninger-Allen Funeral Home.

She was born July 3, 1916, at Covington to Nathan and Lettie Lunger Cutter and died Sunday, Feb. 19, 2006, at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center.

She graduated from Covington High School in 1935 and as a registered nurse from Enid General Hospital Nursing School in 1939. She married Alfred Messenger Aug. 10, 1940, in Carlsbad, N. M.. They made their home in Hillsdale. He preceded her in death.

She was a member of Hillsdale Bible Church, serving as Sunday school teacher, and president and treasurer of Ladies Missionary Society. She also was a member of Knit-Cro-Tat’Em Club, and Mutual Benefit Home Extension Club.

Surviving are two sons, Roy and Gale, both of Hillsdale; one sister, Alice Orrell of Longmont, Colo.; seven grandchildren; two step-grandsons; seven great-grandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, Alfred, she was preceded in death by one son, seven sisters and brothers and two infants.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the church.
