A graveside service for Max Edward "Ed" McLain, 65, of Enid will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, in Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel. The Rev. Carl Sterling will officiate. Arrangements are by Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. He was born June 23, 1943, in Calumet to William H. and Ruby McLain and died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2008, at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center.

He graduated from Calumet High School. He worked for OG&E 15 years as a lineman. He then worked for several Oklahoma City auto dealers as a security officer, then as a cab driver in Oklahoma City. He married Sandra K. Slaton Dec. 15, 1996, in Oklahoma City. They moved to Enid in 1999.

Surviving are his wife, Sandra of the home; one son, Tracy McLain of El Reno; one daughter, Lanell McLain of El Reno; two step-daughters, Renee Throckmorton of Drummond and Jenny Stowers of Herigott, Tenn.; one step-son, Mark Stowers of Oklahoma City; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by numerous brothers and sisters.
