Denison, Texas – Graveside service was conducted August 6 for Mrs. Dorothy McKnight, a former Enid resident, in Enid Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Hale Staley officiating. Bratcher Funeral Home of Denison, Texas, was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. McKnight died August 4 in Denison. She was born December 3, 1909, in Prescott, Arkansas, and had lived in Enid 25 years. While living in Enid, she taught school at DeWitt Waller and Longfellow Junior High, and was director to the Release Time Bible School, sponsored by the Ministerial Alliance through the Chamber of Commerce of Enid. She was also a member of the University Place Christian Church.

Survivors include her husband, William M., Denison, Texas; one daughter, Mrs. Conrad L. Evans, Denison, Texas; three sisters, Mrs. Roy Nelson, Prescott, Arkansas, Mrs. Cleve Stivers, Center, Texas; and Mrs. Sidney Cooper, Little Rock, Arkansas; and four grandsons.

Denison, Texas – Funeral for William M. McKnight, 74, who died Sunday at a local hospital, will be at 4:30 PM Wednesday at the First Christian Church with Rev. Tony Sallisbury officiating.

Services at the University Place Christian Church in Enid will be at 3 PM Thursday with Dr. Lloyd Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery under the Bratcher Funeral Home, Denison, Texas.

McKnight was a Sunday school teacher at the University Place Christian Church. He had lived in Enid where he was employed at Coldirons and Simpson's, until 1976 when he moved to Denison.

He married Dorothy Glenn Newth September 29, 1931, at Prescott, Arkansas. She died August 4, 1976.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Conrad T. Evans, Denison; three brothers, Woodrow B. McKnight, Little Rock, Arkansas, John B. McKnight, Dallas, Texas, and Joseph W. McKnight, Italy, Texas; three sisters, Mrs. Frances Wherry, McCrory, Arkansas, Mrs. Gladys Galloway and Mrs. Virginia Moody, both of Belleville, Arkansas; and four grandchildren.
