Russell Gilbert McCormick

Services for Russell Gilbert McCormick, 55, 2221 E. Walnut, will be at 2 PM Monday in the Trinity Baptist Church. Pastor Delbert Miles will conduct the rites.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau – Evans Funeral Home. McCormick died Friday.

Born March 2, 1924, in Canton, McCormick served in the Army for 24 years. He married the former Marianne Elfner in Schwetzinger, West Germany. He retired in 1966, moved to Enid where he worked at Vance air Force Base until ill health forced him to quit.

Survivors include his wife, Marianne, of the home; two sons, Fred and U.S. Marine Cpl. Jack McCormick, both of Enid; five grandchildren; one sister, Donna Farmer, Yelville, Arkansas; one brother, Mike, Thomas.

His parents and one brother preceded him in death.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Fund with Ladusau – Evans Funeral Home acting as custodian.

Graveside services for Marianne O. McCormick, 90, Enid resident, will be held on Monday, February 3, 2020 at 11:00 am in Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor David Reber with St. Paul's Lutheran Church, officiating. Arrangments are under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service.

Marianne was born on July 21, 1929 in Heidelberg, Germany, the daughter of August and Eva Elfner, and passed away peacefully on January 29, 2020 in Enid. She married Russel G. McCormick on February 14, 1957 during his Army tour of Germany. There were two children born to this union, Manfred McCormick and Jackie McCormick. Marianne came to the United States with her husband in 1962 and made their home in Enid. Marianne self-taught herself to speak and read English.

Survivors include her son Jack; three granddaughters, Michell James, Sandy Woods and Shannon Knott; one grandson, Jason McCormick; numerous other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
