OBITUARY
Enid, OK — The funeral service for Betty R. McCormick, 85, of Enid, will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, 2008, at the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Keith Miller will officiate. An interment service will follow in the garden chapel of Memorial Park Cemetery.
Betty was born Jan. 2, 1923, in Blackwell, Okla., to Ora Ray and Roberta Daisy King Williams and died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008, at Greenbrier Nursing Home.

She grew up in Blackwell and graduated in 1942. She attended Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa and worked in the movie theaters. After a few years she moved to Enid and worked in the movie theatres while she attended Enid Beauty School. After her completion, Betty moved back to Blackwell and worked for a beauty shop for a short time before moving back to Enid in the late 1940s. She went to work for Vogue Beauty Shop until 1961, when she decided to stay home and raise her family.
On Dec. 9, 1960, she married Charles William McCormick. He preceded her in death Feb. 28, 1982.
Betty was a member of First Baptist Church of Enid.

Surviving are two daughters, Lura Louise Boyd of Boston, Mass., and Roberta Francis and her husband Carl of Enid; eight grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers and one sister. Memorials may be made to Hospice Circle of Love with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home acting as custodian of the funds.
