January 29, 1958 - March 30, 2021

A graveside service will be held for Jay Mikel Maxey, age 63, of Enid, 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 2, 2021, at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Enid. Services are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Condolences to the family can be made at ladusauevans.com.

Mike was born January 29, 1958, in Enid to Arlo and Ruth Loudenslager Maxey and passed away March 30, 2021, in St. Mary's Hospital. He attended Monroe Elementary, Emerson Junior High, and Enid High School. He received a Bachelor's Degree from Oklahoma State University. Mike enjoyed collecting and riding motorcycles, his favorites were Suzuki and Kawasaki. He was an avid OSU Cowboy fan.

He worked for 15 years for the Oklahoma State Department of Corrections as a Probation Officer. He always enjoyed his work and helping people. After leaving DOC, he taught at numerous Oklahoma high schools.

Mike was kind-hearted and always willing to lend a hand to everyone.

Mike is survived by his mother Ruth; his brother Gary and wife Debbie of Enid; nieces and nephews, Garret Maxey, wife Madison and Lila of Tulsa; Morgan Maxey of Oklahoma City, Kelsi Lutz and spouse Jon Peetom and Hudson and Heston of Vinita and Tabitha Hurlbutt and husband Blake, and Hensley and Hunter of Oklahoma City.

He is preceded in death by his father, Arlo.

Memorial donations can be made to Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home in memory of Mike.
