Willie Dee Maupin

Mrs. W. L. (Willie Dee) Maupin, 78, 1923 W. Broadway, long – time Enid business woman, died early Wednesday in a local nursing home. Her graveside service will be Friday at 10 AM in Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Orville Parham officiating. Brown Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Maupin was born in Denton, Texas, November 8, 1897, and moved to Roff with her parents at an early age. She attended college at Denton and taught school in Stonewall.

The former Willie Dee Robinson, she was married to Will L. Maupin at Ada in 1920.

Coming to Enid in 1935 where Maupin was manager of the Kingfisher savings and Loan, Mrs. Maupin also worked in the office. Maupin preceded her in death in 1950 and Mrs. Maupin continued to be associated with the firm until 1968. She had an insurance agency until her retirement.

Mrs. Maupin was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Business and Professional Women's Club and the Church Guild.

Survivors include: two sons, Charles F. Maupin, Enid, and Warren L. Maupin, Temple, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Ophie Thomas, and Mrs. Eva Merritt, both of Colorado City, Texas, four grandchildren and a great – grandchild.
