Memorial service for Mrs. Beverly J. Marshall, 84, of Enid, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 14, 2012, at Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel, with Jean Kligora of Grand Lake Community Church and Thomas L. Westbrook of Stillwater, Okla., co-officiating. A private family graveside will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Cremation and service is under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. Beverly was born July 20, 1927, to William F. and Opal Cansler in Oklahoma City, Okla. She grew up in rural Oklahoma City, attending Star Elementary, where she played on the girls' basketball team. She graduated from Northwest High School.

She married Leonard Marshall June 17, 1951, in Oklahoma City. The couple moved to Enid in 1959, where she worked at Vance Air Force Base and then for 1st National Bank. At the age of 52, she returned to school, receiving nursing degrees from Phillips University and O.T. Autry Vocational, and her R.N. degree from NOC, Tonkawa, in 1987.

She worked as a registered nurse, first in home healthcare and then at Meadowlake Behavioral Hospital for 17 years, until retiring in 2010 at the age of 82. She was a member of First Baptist Church

She is survived by daughter, C.J. Kligora and husband Jeff of Orange Lake, Fla.; two sons, Michael and Mark Marshall, both of Enid; grandchildren, Jon Marshall and wife Natalie of Enid, Angela Guinn of Claremore, Bradley Marshall of Owasso, David Kligora and wife Laura of Grand Junction, Colo., and Chris Kligora of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; eight great-grandchildren; brother, William F. Cansler of Edmond; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and two sisters.

Leonard A. Marshall, 47, 3214 W. Cherokee, died early Friday in a local hospital after a long illness.

His funeral will be at 10:30 AM Monday in the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Ron Fellemende officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with the Brown Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Marshall was born at Magazine, Ark., and moved to Altus with his parents at an early age. He and Beverly Cansler Doak were married in Oklahoma City June 21, 1951.

Marshall entered the U.S. Army in 1951 and served four and a half years during the Korean War. He attended Central State University and Oklahoma City University and was employed by IBM for 21 years, serving as senior customer engineer.

Marshall moved to Enid in 1959. He was a member of the First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Training School instructor. Marshall also served as Scoutmaster of Troop No. Five.

The deacons of the church will serve as honorary pallbearers. Those who wish may make contributions to the First Baptist Church Building Fund in Marshall's memory.

His body will ie in state in the funeral home until 9 AM Monday.

In addition to Mrs. Marshall, he is survived by a daughter, Claudia Jean of Stillwater; two sons, Michael Kent of Mill Valley, Calif., and Mark Antony of the home, a brother, Lynn Marshall, Vibernum, Mo.; four sisters, Mrs. Reba Duncan and Mrs. James Pike, both of Altus; Mrs. Addison Alexander of Tipton and Mrs. Bruce Rice of Duke.
