The funeral for Charles Thomas “Charlie” Malicote, 87, will be 2 p.m. today at New Hope United Methodist Church. The Rev. David Conrad will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory.

He was born Jan. 1, 1920, on the family farm near Enid to Charles Obidiah and Bertha Beatrice Perry Malicote and died Sunday, April 1, 2007, at Golden Oaks Nursing Center.

He lived in Enid all his life except for several years as a child in Indiana. He attended Freehome school and Enid High School. He entered the Army Feb. 12, 1942, serving as a technician fifth grade with the 458th Amphibious Truck Company, receiving an honorable discharge Oct. 23, 1945. He was in the third wave on Omaha Beach during the Normandy landing June 6, 1944, and fought in the Battle of the Bulge.

He married Anna Marjorie Smith Nov. 9, 1940. She preceded him in death.

He worked 37 years as area maintenance technician for U.S. Postal Service, retiring Jan. 1, 1980. He then held several jobs, including owning his own air conditioning business.

He married Barbara Kinzy Sept. 27, 1997. He was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church, serving as Sunday school teacher, head deacon, member of building, finance and prison ministry committees, and the administrative council. He was a member of postal union, was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, a member of Masonic Lodge 501 and a 32nd-degree Mason. He was a volunteer at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center and Wheatheart Nutrition and was a Campfire leader and homeroom parent.

Surviving are his wife, Barbara of the home; two daughters, Marcia LaMunyon and Shelley Stutchman, both of Enid; one stepdaughter, Cheryl Kinzy of Tulsa; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to New Hope United Methodist Church, Apportionment Fund or Hospice Circle of Love.

The funeral for Marjorie Malicote, 75, will be at 2 PM Monday in New Hope United Methodist Church with the Reverends Sam Tucker and Buddy Bolin officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau – Evans Funeral Home.

Marjorie was born June 18, 1921 in Guthrie, Oklahoma, to Dores and Unzickier Smith and died at her home Thursday following an extended Illness. She came to Enid from Guthrie. She graduated from Enid High School and Enid Business College. On November 9, 1940 she married Charles Malicote. She was Executive Sec. for Champlin Refinery and Longbell Lumber Company. She as a former member of the Eastern Star, a Camp Fire Leader, Past President of the PTA and Recording Sec. of Monday Night Bridge Club. She was an active member of the Bethany United Methodist Church, Trinity United Methodist Church and New Hopedale United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband Charles of the home, two daughters, Marcia Lamunyon and her husband Larry, Shelly Stutchman and her husband Horace all of Enid, five grandchildren, seven great – grandchildren, a sister, Betty Poling of Oklahoma City and one brother, Benjamin Smith, of Oklahoma City.

Memorials may be made through the Ladusau - Evans Funeral Home or church to New Hope United Methodist Church building fund.
