A Celebration of Life for Minnie Lenora Darnell Mainord, age 78, of Enid, is 10:00 am, Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Central Assembly Church with Rev. Josh Cosby officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 7th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Minnie was born at home, September 7, 1941 in Reydon, Oklahoma to Clarence and Viola (Selby) Samples, and she passed away Saturday, February 1, 2020 in Enid, Oklahoma after a brief illness.

She graduated from Selman High School in 1959. She married Victor Darnell in 1960, and they had two daughters making their home in Selman, OK before moving to Enid in 1966. She began her banking career at First National Bank, and later was a personal banker at Central National Bank for many years before retiring in 2007. She was a longtime member of Central Assembly of God Church where she participated in various friend and bible study groups and was a mentor to many teen girls through the Missionette program. Minnie enjoyed women's social outings and playing dominoes. She married Gilbert Mainord in 2005 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. She and Gilbert enjoyed trips including Alaska, Florida, and Branson; attending gospel concerts; and having lunch out with friends and family.

Minnie was steadfast in her faith and a woman of quiet strength. She cared for those in need and opened her heart and home to them. She was a faithful friend to the end.

Minnie is preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Lavona Martin, Sue Mauldin, and Joyce Crow; and two grandchildren, Austin Walker and Maddox Morgan. She is survived by her husband, Gilbert Mainord, of the home in Enid; two daughters, Vickie Walker and husband Carroll, of Ft. Myers, FL; Kaylene Reeves and husband Larry, of Lenexa, KS; four step-children, Kevin Mainord and wife Julene, of Enid; Amy Morgan and husband Greg, of Edmond; Ron Mainord and wife Melissa, of Fairview; Leigh Arnold and husband Chris, of Edmond; two sisters, Larue Phillips, of Roosevelt, UT, and Teresa Samples, of Ringwood, OK. She leaves ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Memorials in Minnie's name may be made to Twice Loved with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.

Minnie's family would like to thank the staffs of St. Mary's ICU, Greenbrier Skilled Nursing and Elara Caring Hospice for their unwavering compassionate care during her brief illness and final days. We are forever grateful.
