ENID, OK — Funeral for Gerald Lucas Sr., 70, will be 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Tom LeGrand officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Gerald was born to Clifford and Helen (VanAmber) Lucas on Oct. 13, 1943, in Alexandria, Minn., and died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, in Enid.

Gerald graduated from high school in Hood River, Ore.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

In 1966, he married Alta Anthony. They later moved to Enid 35 years ago. Gerald worked for the city of Enid and was a truck driver for several trucking companies.

He is survived by his wife, Alta; son, Gerald Lucas Jr. of Enid; two brothers, Clifford Lucas of Oregon and Leslie Lucas of Texas; four sisters, Helen Lucas and Georgia Donnelly, both of Oregon, Karen Gilkerson of California, and Susan Albrecht of Oregon.

Gerald was preceded in death by one brother.

November 20, 1943 - February 25, 2020

The funeral service for Alta Joy Lucas, 76 of Enid, will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 9, 2020, in the Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Tom LeGrand officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 - 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Alta was born November 20, 1943, in Lebanon, MO, to Leo and Opal Blankenship Anthony, and passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2020, in Enid.

Alta married Gerald Lucas, Sr. in 1966, and he preceded her in death on February 11, 2014. She had been a cook at NORCE for 33 years. She enjoyed gardening and playing bingo.

Alta is survived by her son, Gerald Lucas, Jr. of Enid, three brothers, Don, Paul, and Allan Anthony, and three sisters, Mary Biggs, Vera Burlander, and Nola Wray. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
