A Celebration of Life for Chester E. Lovely, age 100 years, of Enid, Oklahoma, is 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 28, 2017, at Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum, with Reverend Carrell Still to officiate. The United States Air Force will provide military honors. The family will receive friends from 6-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Chester was born December 6, 1917, in Ames, Oklahoma, to William and Catherine (Renshaw) Lovely, and passed away Thursday, December 21, 2017, in Enid. Chester attended Ames High School, graduating in 1936. He joined the United States Army Air Corp and proudly served his country in the southwest Pacific during World War II. He married Della Buchanan on April 12, 1942, in Oklahoma City. He drove trucks for C. R. Oldham and Dean J. Hodgen before working at Vance Air Force Base as an aircraft mechanic, later becoming a supervisor for T-37 scheduled maintenance. He retired February 13, 1983, after 38 years of service. He was a member of Willow Road Christian Church and the American Legion.

Chester is preceded in death by his parents, William and Catherine Lovely; his wife Della; four sisters and one brother.

He is survived by son, Larry Lovely and wife Terrie, of Enid; and one grandson, Larry Gene Lovely, II and wife Anastey, of Ponca City.

Memorials in Chester's name may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
