The funeral for Melvin Hugh Litson, Sr., 80, of Enid will be 2 p.m. Monday at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home chapel. The Rev. Kevin Choate will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

He was born Sept. 10, 1927, in Tonkawa to Paul David and Mabel Olive McCamen Litson and died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, Enid.

He served two years with the Army Corps of Engineers with 32nd General Service Regiment, building runways in Germany. He married Norma Patricia Seale July 14, 1945. They made their home in Enid. He worked for Bond Bakery many years, then as a self-employed carpenter, retiring in 1992. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, serving as a deacon for many years.

Surviving are his wife, Norma Patricia Litson; one daughter, Cynthia Wagner of Grinnell, Iowa; one brother, David Litson of Centennial, Colo.; three sisters, Georgianna Danc, of Enid, Donna Cauthen of Midwest City and Eva Frasure of Mesa, Ariz.; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son and one brother.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Emmanuel Baptist Church building fund.
