OBITUARY
Funeral services for Herb Lipps were held June 9, 1966 in Mennonite Brethern Church with Rev. Waldo Wiebe officiating. Burial followed in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Henninger Allen Funeral Home of Enid.

He was born on a farm near Okeene and took over the farm responsibilities when his parents retired. He married Esther Rusch in Fairview on August 17, 1922. They moved to Enid in 1942. He died in an Enid hospital on June 5, 1966 after a short illness.

Herb was prominent in cattle auction circles and was well known in Texas, Kansas, and Oklahoma for his dairy cattle business.

He was survived by his wife, Esther; a son Charles Lipps of Enid; three sisters: Martha Tinneman, Rachel Brickman and Lovina Mondick all of Enid; brother Floyd Lipps of Okeene and four grandchildren.

Final Rites Set for Herb Lipps

Herb Lipps, 63, prominent in cattle auction circles, died Sunday morning in a local hospital following a short illness.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 PM in the Mennonite Brethren church with Rev. Waldo Wiebe officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Henninger – Allen Funeral Home.

Lipps was born on a farm near Okeene. When his parents retired, he took over farming responsibilities and farmed for 18 years before moving to Enid in 1942.

He was married to the former Esther Rusch on August 17, 1922, in Fairview.

Lipps was well known in Texas, Kansas, Iowa and Oklahoma for his dairy cattle business and dairy auctions. In 1951, he flew 100 month – old dairy calves to Hugh where the fourth airborne sale was conducted.

Survivors include the widow Esther of the home, 509 W. Poplar; a son, Charles Lipps, Woodlands; three sisters, Mrs. Bill (Martha) Tinneman, Mrs. Alex (Rachel) Brickman and Mrs. Amel (Lovina) Mondick, all of Enid; a brother, Floyd Lipps of Okeene, and four grandchildren.
