Mary Kathrine was born November 28, 1939, to Andrew and Emma Lee Brown in Enid, Oklahoma, and passed away Monday, July 11, 2016, at her home in Enid. Her home-going celebration service will be at 1:00 P.M. Monday, July 18, 2016, at First Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.

Mary grew up in Enid and attended Enid Public Schools. At a very early age, she accepted Christ. Mary married her high school sweetheart, Donald Laster, and to this union, they adopted two children. After Donald retired from the military, they moved back to Enid, and Mary worked in the Enid Public School System as a paraprofessional, from which she retired.

For a time, Mary was a member of the Eastern Star and Masonic Lodge. She was a very active member of First Missionary Baptist Church, where in early years, she was a Sunday School Teacher, choir member, Treasurer for the WMU, Church Secretary, Deaconess, and a mother of the church.

She leaves to celebrate her homegoing: one daughter, Barbara Fleece (Mike) of Enid, one son, Richard Laster (Natalia) of Trier, Germany, two nephews, Orlando Brown (Sherlene) of Oklahoma City, and Dwayne Brown of Enid, sister-in-law Mary Porter of Enid, brother-in-law Tommy Fitzpatrick of Enid, aunt Mary Freeman of DeSota, Texas, five grandsons, ten great-grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, father, mother, step-mother, two sisters, and one brother.
