Albert L. Lamon, 87, is being laid to rest at a graveside service scheduled on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Billy Benson officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Silver Talon Honor Guard, Vance Air Force Base. Visitation with the family present will be Friday evening, June 15, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Stittsworth’s.

Al passed away on June 10, 2018 at the Oklahoma Veterans Center in Clinton, Oklahoma. Al was born on January 13, 1931 to Roy and Esther Lamon of Bemidji, Minnesota. He graduated in 1949 from Bemidji High School and, in 1951, joined the United States Air Force where he served as an Air Traffic Controller at Vance AFB, Tinker AFB, Ardmore AFB, Trux field Wisconsin, Morocco and King Salmon, Alaska. In 1954, Al married Patty Hildabrand of Enid, Oklahoma. In 1966, after leaving the military, Al moved his family to Bemidji, Minnesota where he attended Minneapolis Business College and worked for Thorson International Harvester until he retired. After retiring, he and his wife Patty moved to Gateway, Arkansas and then, after a few years, moved to Hunter, Oklahoma and then to Enid, Oklahoma.

Al is survived by his wife, Patty; three sons, Richard and wife Trish of Enid, Russell and wife Deb of Shevlin, Minnesota, Michael Lamon of St. Paul, Minnesota; daughter-in-law, Marie Lamon of Bemidji, Minnesota; sister, Ruth Wies and husband Bill of Bemidji, Minnesota; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and special singing partner, Betty Bair.

Al was preceded in passing by a son, Alan Lamon, his parents, brothers, Cedric, Bryce and Harold, also, sisters, Beatrice Ford and Dorothy Godin.
