September 3, 1938 - May 7, 2020

Gayle Elaine Lamb was born September 3, 1938 on the family farm outside Edgar, NE to Paul Dewayne and Helen Margaret McLaughlin and passed away on May 7, 2020 in Enid, OK.

Gayle grew up in Edgar, NE and graduated from Edgar High School. She married Leonard L. Lamb on October 27, 1956 in Council Bluff, Iowa and began her life as a military wife. They had three children and had many family adventures while traveling all over the world making many military and church friends along the way. After 28 years in the military, they settled in Enid, Oklahoma.

She was a very talented woman who enjoyed cooking, sewing, party planning, and traveling. She always found a reason to celebrate life with family and friends. She was a constant figure at Central Assembly of God, Enid, OK. Through the years, she and Leonard led College and Career, Merry Widows, Senior Saints, and contributed to many other ministries within the church. One of her biggest joys was planning, decorating, and serving at church functions. We have no doubt she will become the “Queen” of party planning in heaven.

Gayle loved her family, friends, and being Nanny Lamb to her grandkids and the special ones who adopted her. She loved her dear friend Jackie Swadley like a sister and deeply enjoyed her time with Pearl Jokerst. Those who met her through the years all hold special memories of her warmth and kindness.

Gayle was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Helen McLaughlin; sisters Shirley Harms, Janis Buckles, and Sallie Scheve; brothers Dean McLaughlin, Bill McLaughlin, and Clark McLaughlin; other relatives, friends, and church party ladies.

She is survived by her husband, Leonard Lee Lamb Sr.; three children, Leonard Lamb Jr., Cheryl Phillips, and Brenda Carr; seven grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren; brother, Craig McLaughlin; sisters, Sharon Kenley and Linda Bruns; other relatives, friends, and church party sidekicks.

In lieu of flowers, tributes in memory of Gayle may be made through the funeral home to Central Assembly of God, 1202 W. Oxford Ave, Enid, OK, 73703. Condolences may be made online at www.andersonburris.com. Private funeral service for Gayle Lamb, 81 of Enid, will be Monday, May 11, 2020 at 1:00 pm in Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Steve Lance officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Family will plan a celebration of life “party” at a later date when travel restrictions and health concerns have lifted.
