James "Jim" Lamoreaux
March 6, 1933 - January 4, 2023

Graveside service for (Ret) LTC James "Jim" Lamoreaux, 89 will be Monday, January 9, 2023 at 2:00 pm in Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Reverend Sam Tucker officiating. Visitation with the family will be Sunday, 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.

James was born on March 6, 1933 in Plainwell, Michigan to Ernest and Ruth Lamoreaux and passed away on January 4, 2023 in Yukon, Oklahoma.

He grew up in Plainwell and graduated from Plainwell High School. Jim enlisted in the USAF and was a helicopter pilot. He retired after 22 years. On December 28, 1954, he married Jo Ann Hite at Vance Air Force Base. Following his retirement, Jim worked at Vance in civil service. Jim and Jo Ann enjoyed traveling all 50 states and Canada. They traveled in their motorhome to 48 states and Canada. He was a longtime member of New Hope United Methodist Church and an avid mall walker. Jim was a member of USAF Helicopter Pilot Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Valerie Shaw.

Jim is survived by his wife, Jo Ann; daughter and husband, Denise and Robert Phillips; four grandchildren, Nicholas Shaw, Kelly Nordeen, Kaci Phillips, and Nathan Shaw; 8 great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
