Mrs. Roy (Virgie L.) Kummell, 79, 601 N. Sixth, died early Wednesday in a local hospital. Her service will be Saturday at 10 AM in the Henninger – Allen Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Finis O'Neal officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Kummell was born April 12, 1897, in Wise County, Texas. She came to Oklahoma at an early age with her parents, settling on a farm near Altus. She was raised and attended schools in the Altus area. On August 23, 1933, she married Roy Kummell at Altus. They made their home in Quincy, California, from 1937 to 1968 at which time they moved to Enid.

Survivors include her husband, Roy; one son, Travis A. Pelfrey, San Jose, California; one daughter, Mrs. Forrest (Bernice) Wilson, Niece, California; seven grandchildren; 19 great – grandchildren; two brothers, Leland Palmer and T. J. Palmer, both of Bakersfield, California; and two sisters, Mrs. Edris Oglesby, Altus, and Mrs. Beatrice Oglesby, Monterey Park, California.
