Services Slated for Warrent Officer Donald Krumrei

Funeral services for Warrent Officer Donald Krumrei, 24, who was killed in Vietnam while on a military mission, will be at 2 PM Tuesday in the Henninger – Allen Funeral Chapel.

Rev. Leslie G. Everitt Jr. will officiate and burial with full military rites will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Krumrei was born September 22, 1945, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, attended schools in Ramona and North Enid before graduating from Carrier High in 1963. He had lettered in baseball and basketball.

Krumrei attended Oklahoma State University two years where he was a member of Delta Chi fraternity. He graduated in January, 1969, from Northwestern State College at Alva with a BS degree in physical education.

After graduation he volunteered for the Army Helicopter program and after completing basic training at Ft. Polk, Louisiana, was sent to primary helicopter training at Ft. Walters, Texas, and to Ft. Rucker, Alabama, for secondary training.

Krumrei received his wings as helicopter pilot and his warrent as a warrent officer on February 23, 1970. After a short leave at home, he was sent to Vietnam on March 28.

Krumrei was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and one Order of DeMolay.

He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter E. Krumrei, Northwest of Enid; a sister, Mrs. Mickey (Kay) Blakley, Hennessy; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Donald A Hamilton, Stillwater and paternal grandmother, Mrs. W. E. Krumrei Sr., 1319 N. Independence.
