March 13, 1923 - November 21, 2018

A Celebration of Life for Robert M. "Bob" Klusener, 95 years, of Enid, is 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 26, 2018, at the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Jim Edmison officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Army Honor Team. The family will receive friends from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 25th, at the funeral home.

Bob was born March 13, 1923, in Dubuque, Kansas, to Charles and Mable (Sharp) Klusener, and passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2018.

Bob lost his parents at an early age; he lost his mother at the age of seven, and his father passed away two years later when he was nine. Following their deaths, Bob and his brothers went to live with their aunts and uncles where they worked for their room and board. Bob attended school in Dorrence, Kansas. At the age of 16 years, he lived with Sammy and Marie Heim, his foster parents, as well as Max, his foster brother. Sammy passed away while Bob was in active duty in the Army. Marie eventually met and married John Letsch who became a very important person in his life. Bob was in the 82nd Paratrooper Airborne Division in the European Theater, serving in France and Germany. He was part of the honor guard that guarded Gen. Eisenhower and Gen. Patton.

He was united in marriage to Virginia Becker July 25, 1947, in Russell, Kansas. Bob worked for Texaco as a pumper in Kansas and Enid, eventually retiring after 40 years.

One of the greatest joys of Bob's life was being reunited with his foster brother Max, whom he hadn't seen for many years. Bob and Max considered themselves actual brothers. Max and his wife and niece would travel from the family farm in Russell, Kansas, to spend time with Bob on many occasions. Bob's children Tim and Vicki were able to take their dad to visit Max at the farm on two occasions, where he was able to visit with nieces and nephews and other family members.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mable Klusener; wife Virginia Klusener; son Alan Klusener; and four brothers; Irvin, Orville, Donnie, and Ralph Klusener.
