Doriene was born Ethel Doriene Leierer to Dewey and Cora Leierer in Lovell, Oklahoma, on June 14, 1926, and passed away at Autumn Leaves Memory Care in Edmond, Oklahoma, on April 20, 2018.

Doriene was predeceased by her husband Jimmie Kesner, son Errol Kesner (twin of Carol), parents Dewey and Cora Leierer, brothers Everett, James, Melvin Leierer, and sister Helen Kelley.

Doriene is survived by her sister Betty Dundas of Wichita, and brother Ernest Leierer of Enid.

Doriene grew up in Enid, graduating from Enid High School in 1944. She married Jimmie L. Kesner on January 17, 1945. She stayed very busy raising her family until 1971, when she went to work for the Enid School System working in the Longfellow Junior High School cafeteria, Waller Junior High School cafeteria, and the bakery at the Enid Public School's Central Kitchen. In 1978, she began working at Cherokee Park School at Enid State School (NORCE) as a teacher's aide until 1986, when she retired.

Doriene was very active in Davis Park Christian Church, where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school, youth group, and participated in the many women's activities. Later she joined Oakwood Christian Church where she was an active member singing in the choir, and singing in a women's group called "The Silver Chords." She enjoyed making her "famous coconut cream pies" for the youth church auctions, and helping prepare church dinners. She was a member of Oakwood Christian Church for many years before moving to Edmond in 2014.

Doriene is survived by five daughters: Carol Hostler of Edmond (twin of Errol Kesner); grandchildren, Kristine Gray Sagan and spouse Ed; great-grandchildren, Matthew and Jack Sagan, Doug Gray; great-grandchildren, Zane, Zachary, Austin and Victoria Gray; Karen Randall and spouse Dan of Enid; grandchildren, Stephanie Stevens and spouse Zhawn; great-grandchildren, Madison and Rogan Stevens, Emily Crites; great-grandchildren, Victoria Stevens and spouse Scott; great-great-grandchildren, Salem Stevens and Vanessa Berry, Michelle Crites; Joyce Haines and spouse Paul of Broken Arrow; grandchildren, Stacy Ransom; great-grandchild, Brendan Fleetwood, Wendy Williams and spouse Ryan; great-grandchildren, Carinne, Sydney, and Maggie Williams; Sandra Kirk and spouse Darrell of Bixby; grandchildren, Heather Kirk, great-grandchildren, Corey and Blake Sanchez, Joshua Kirk and wife Lisa; great-grandchildren, Lydia, Owen and Wesley Kirk; Julie Blasdel and spouse Mike of Edmond; grandchildren, Jessicah and Savannah Blasdel.

The funeral service for Doriene Kesner is 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 4, 2018, at Oakwood Christian Church with the Reverend Eric Keller officiating.

Burial will take place prior to the service, with family, at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made in her name to the Dan Wilson Legacy Fund c/o Oakwood Christian Church, for children's playground equipment: Oakwood Christian Church, 401 North Oakwood Road, Enid, OK 73703.
