A celebration of life for Betty Kellet, 92, of Enid, will be at 2:00pm, Friday, February 15, 2019 at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Walter Martinez officiating with burial following in Memorial Park Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Betty Kellet was called by the Lord to join Him and her beloved "JJ" on February 8, 2019, in Enid, OK. Betty was born January 9, 1927, in Hitchcock, OK, to Albert H. Bernhardt and Sarah Irene (Wenick) Bernhardt Weis. Betty attended school in Shattuck and Woodward. Following high school, she attended the Adventist College Union Academy in Lincoln, NE, graduating in 1950. She then obtained a degree in nursing from the Union Adventist Academy in Keke, TX. Betty completed her formal education in Business Administration at the University of Oklahoma.

In 1968, Betty Bernhardt and John J. Kellet ("JJ") were married and resided in Enid, OK. She was a faithful member of the Enid Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Betty was the Director of Nurses at Enid General Hospital before becoming the Director of Nurses at the Methodist Nursing Home (The Commons). In 1970 she became the Administrator of the Methodist Nursing Home. On May 21, 1975, she was named "Boss of the Year" by the Excelsior Chapter of the American Business Women's Association. One of her greatest achievements was when she joined forces with Sharon Bragg to start a mobile meal delivery service in Enid now known as "Meals on Wheels".

She enjoyed spending the summers in Colorado observing the wildlife especially the birds and chipmunks along with her past times of skiing and hunting. Betty was a loving and generous grandmother to Janet and Scot.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John Kellet, and her dogs Susie, Puppy, Missy, and Sammy, whom she greatly loved. She is survived by Sharon Cairns, Janet Cairns, and the Scot Cairns family of Tulsa, and Robert Kellet of Valley Center, KS.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Enid SPCA with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as the custodian. Condolences may be made and services viewed at www.ladusauevans.com
