Betty KING

Memorial Park Cemetery

July 30, 1930 - October 2, 2021

The services celebrating and honoring the life of Betty King, 91, of Enid, will be held 2:30 P.M. Saturday, October 9, 2021, in the Westminster Presbyterian Church with pastor Roland Slater officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

Betty was born to Ged and Ruby Rust July 30, 1930, near Capron, Oklahoma, and passed from this life October 2, 2021, in Enid, Oklahoma.

The family moved to the Carrier community in 1940, where Betty was raised and educated and graduated from high school in 1948; she was a star softball and basketball player and salutatorian of her class. She then attended and graduated from Enid Business College. She was hired as secretary to Bud Everitt, manager of Long-Bell Lumber Company. She was one of two remaining women working with the business closed. The last 10 years of her working life was with her husband at King Appraisal Company. Betty and Dewey were married April 8, 1950. They were baptized in the First Presbyterian Church December 18, 1955. Their daughter Debra was born December 2, 1956. She was a charter member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church. Her passion was canning pickles, beets, and jams and giving them as gifts. One of the many highlights of life was playing cards (mostly visiting) with eleven friends regularly. We were blessed to have many travels with family and friends. She was a cherished wife and mother.

Betty is survived by her husband, Dewey, of the home; and one daughter Debra and son-in-law Loren Clark, of Edmond, Okla.

Memorial contributions may be made to Enid Mobile Meals, Inc., or church of donor's choosing. Thanks to Elara Caring Hospice and Drs. Richard Rivers and Barbara Winery for their wonderful care.

Condolences and special memories may be shared with the family online at www.Brown-Cummings.com.
