Funeral service for Clarence J. Janzen, 91, of Enid, will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011, at Enid Mennonite Brethren Church. Rev. Lynford Becker and Rev. Garvie Schmidt will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Clarence was born March 27, 1919, southeast of Fairview, Okla., to Henry and Elizabeth Heinrichs Janzen and passed away Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2011, at Golden Oaks Nursing Home

He attended a country school near Homestead, Okla. He married Marlene Cornelsen March 31, 1940, at North Mennonite Brethren Church. He entered the U.S. Army in 1945, serving in Korea and was honorably discharged in 1946.

He started his work career with Knox Auto Sales, Enid, Fairview and Woodward, Gold Spot Dairy, Jensen's in Fairview, Cornelson's Motor Co. in Fairview, C&H Appliances in Fairview, Stuart's Pontiac, Cadillac in Enid, Three Way Chevrolet, Bakersfield, Calif., and purchased Janzen's Oldsmobile in Enid in 1967, later adding GMC Truck Franchise in 1972. He was president of Oklahoma Auto Dealers Association in 1978. He was Time Quality Dealer nominee in 1989. He was a member of Fairview Lions Club and Enid Noon Lions Club for over 50 years and was given a lifetime membership. He was a member of Enid Mennonite Brethren Church.

Survivors include his son, Jerry Janzen and wife Loretta of Enid; daughter-in-law, Helga Janzen of Enid; grandchildren, Diane Rempel and husband Ron, Michele Trybus and husband Brian, Juergen Janzen and wife Lorrie and Sabine Janzen; seven great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Willard and Doris Bartel; and other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Albert; sisters, Malinda Becker and Rosalie Sperling; his wife, Marlene, in February 2007; and son, Dale Janzen on Nov. 29, 2002.
