Funeral services for William E. Humphrey, 87, have been set for 2:30 PM Friday in Central Christian Church with Rev. Hugh Collett officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the Henninger – Allen Funeral Home.

The body will lie in state at the church one hour before service time.

Those who wish may make contributions to the Building Fund of Central Christian Church in Humphrey's memory. The church and Henninger – Allen Funeral Home will act as custodians of the fund.

A native of Decatur, Illinois, he moved at the age of 14 with his parents to Guthrie. He was married to Miss Clara Alexander on November 7, 1906. The family moved to Enid in 1921 and have lived here since.

Humphrey operated a retail grocery store in Enid until his retirement in 1950.

He was a member of Central Christian Church where he was Emeritus Member of the Church Board of which he was a past president. He also sang in Christian churches for over 70 years.

Survivors include his wife, Clara, of the home at 1202 W. Maine; two daughters, Miss Helen and Miss Ruth Humphrey, both of the home; a son, Bill, Omaha, Nebraska; and two grandchildren.
