The funeral for Max Willard Humphrey Jr., 65, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, 2008, at West Willow Community Church. The Rev. Don Tines will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Family visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. He was born July 20, 1943, in Enid to Max W. Sr. and Lillian Minnie Blocker Humphrey and died Sunday, Aug. 31, 2008. He attended Enid public schools.

He married Barbara Rhoads Dec. 24, 1965, in Westminister, Calif. He entered the Navy in November 1961 and was discharged in 1967. He entered the Air Force in October 1972 and was discharged in 1976. He returned to Enid where he became an exterior and interior decorator. He had memberships in the Blue Lodge Mason 1974, 32nd Degree, Enid Lodge 80, Akdar Shrine Temple of Tulsa, the Veterans of Foreign Wars 1996, and the American Legion. He was a charter member of West Willow Community Church where he served as deacon. He also was a Shrine Clown.

Surviving are his wife, Barbara, of the home; one daughter, Desiree Reynolds of Enid; one son, Michael Humphrey of Enid; three sisters, Maxine Smith and Debbie Martin, both of Enid, and Lilly Ellis of Spokane, Wash.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Service for Barbara S. Humphrey, age 74, of Enid will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Ladusau-Evans Chapel, with Pastor Don Tines officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Barbara was born July 3, 1947, in Hershey, Pennsylvania, to David Rhoads and Beatrice Perreira Rhoads and passed away Friday, September 24, 2021, in the Select Specialty Hospital in Oklahoma City.

She was raised in Pennsylvania and later moved Orange County, California, where she graduated from high school. She married Max Humphrey on December 24, 1965, in Westminster, CA, and he passed away August 31, 2008. Barbara and Max moved back to Enid in 1976. She was a charter member of West Willow Community Church.

Barbara's passion was taking care of children. She had a day care in her home where she raised lots of kids. She always called them her kids.

She is survived by daughter Desiree Reynolds of Enid and son Michael Humphrey of Enid; four grandchildren: Matthew, Brittany, Jade, and Blake; great-grandchildren: Matthias, Jalen, Serenity, Myka, Max, Piper, and Bryler; siblings: Felix and Nancy Norsworthy, Betty Dutcher, Diane and Dennis Morrow, and Tony Rhoads; and several other family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorials may be made to the Enid Shrine Club Transportation Fund, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home as custodian of the funds.
